Lately I’ve been obsessed with a bolero jacket pattern I found and trying to use it as a jumping off point to design my own patterns.
This is the original design:




And here is my first adaptation:



I added sleeves because I have half-sleeve tattoos on both arms and I needed a cover for work that would hide them. I decided to go with a more lacey look over bobbles because I find bobbles hard to do.
The next project I’m working on is using the Edgar Allen Poe set from Bad Sheep Yarn. I’m taking the basic concept of the bolero jacket which uses a no-sew raglan sleeve style and turning it into a shirt.
I did so much prep work for this project. I even knit a swatch gauge which I have never done before! I algebra’d out the neckline to shoulder and hopefully it will work out.


I did all the math by hand because I forgot that I had a calculator on my phone, lol!
